On some real shit, let me know if you want a review copy of Robyn Hood: The Ongoing Series #1, and it’ll be yours right meow.
Anonymous asked: how many character redesigns are planned for the robyn hood monthly series?
Marian is the only major one for now. She got her haircut and got an updated, modern look at the end of the last issue of LEGEND, and she’ll have that look in the ongoing as well.
She has a cool “battle outfit” too, though. That won’t debut until the fourth issue, but I believe it’s revealed on a cover for the third issue.
Britney Waters (AKA Red Riding Hood) will have a different outfit from what she wore in the ROBYN HOOD VS. RED RIDING HOOD one-shot. That outfit was too cheesecakey for my tastes, so I’m glad we’re using her uniform from CODE RED, but we will be sure the costume gets zipped up as to avoid some of the gratuitous shots that came with that series.
The idea is for all of the women to have modern and practical costumes that will show readers that, despite what the covers show, the objective of Robyn Hood is to offer the readers the story of strong, independent, flawed, interesting women and their journeys. I’m doing all I can to make sure their outfits — both their casual clothing and their costumes — reflect that.
I don’t see us changing Avella’s costume, though. I love Larry’s original design, so we’ll probably keep her as is when she comes back.
Both ROBYN HOOD: THE ONGOING SERIES #1 and GRIMM FAIRY TALES #101 were sent to print today! I’m CRAZY excited, as both are the first issues of my first two ongoing series, EVER.
Anonymous asked: why is it that unlike most comic book writers you seem to have no problem discussing how characters will act and what potential roles they will play in your books as well as future storylines? i only wonder because I've talked to writers who have given me very vague and not very helpful responses to questions I've had regarding a comic
I don’t know which writers you’ve been talking to, but I don’t think I’m really that different in that regard. All of the writers that I follow are vocal about their work and interactive with fans and each other. Thanks, though!
