LATE LATE SHOW MEETS DOCTOR WHO AHHHHHH

The Fangirl’s Tale: Professor Whom and Detective Sherrock

from the upcoming graphic novel THE COMIC CON TALES

Written by Patrick Shand (That’s me - hi!)

This tale is drawn by Oly Pelaez

Inspired by Chaucer’s classic “The Canterbury Tales,” this graphic novel tells the story of a group of friends who take a road trip from New York to San Diego Comic Con. Along the way, they each share a tale. This one… well, I think this one is pretty self-explanatory.

We obviously can’t say names, but I think it’s pretty clear what this is parodying/embracing. Oh, fandom. You know I love you.

Reblog if you’d like to see this graphic novel happen! I’m going to pitch it around this summer. More artists to be announced and more previews to be leaked soon!

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?
That’s a preview page from my upcoming graphic novel THE COMIC CON TALES. Inspired by Chaucer’s classic “The Canterbury Tales,” this graphic novel tells the story of a group of friends who take a road trip from New York to San Diego Comic Con. Along the way, they each share a tale. This is the first page of “The Fangirl’s Tale: Professor Whom and Detective Sherrock,” illustrated by Oly Pelaez.
Of course we can’t say the names, but we’re pretty clearly parodying Doctor Who and Sherlock fanfic. The story gets pretty… well, you see, it’s from the mind of a character who writes some pretty intense fic, so I think anyone who has been really involved with fandom will get a kick out of it.
Reblog if you want to see this happen! THE COMIC CON TALES is made up of many, many stories, comedic and serious. Every story is illustrated by a different artist, and the script is the strangest most diverse thing I’ve ever written, and I’m pretty proud of it.
Hope you dig it. Tell your friends! If I get enough reblogs, maybe I’ll post the uncomfortably steamy next page!
